Materials

The core of the product is a 5 mm Armox® Advance steel plate, manufactured by the Swedish company SSAB.

Armox® Advance is an ultra-hard structural steel developed for applications requiring high mechanical strength and wear resistance.

The steel plate is encapsulated in the PANCIR elastomer layer, which is characterized by high toughness, elasticity, and strong abrasion resistance.

This composite construction protects the steel core from corrosion and mechanical damage while also helping to reduce secondary material fragmentation upon impact.

Information about Armox material

Real Target s.r.o. is not the manufacturer of the armored steel, but the manufacturer of the composite solution.

The steel plate used in the product is made from Armox® Advance steel produced by SSAB.

According to the technical documentation of the Armox material, recommended armored steel thicknesses are listed in ballistic resistance tables based on NIJ, EN, and STANAG standards.

These values apply to the steel material itself and are specified in the manufacturer's documentation.

Technology and material experience

The PANCIR material has been developed and tested during the production of shooting targets and safety components used at shooting ranges.

It is used for example in the production of:

• 3D shooting targets

• bullet traps

• protective covering panels installed in front of Hardox steel targets

These applications help improve shooting range safety by reducing the spread of fragments when a projectile impacts the target.

The experience gained during the development of these systems was also used in the construction of the KYRYS product.
